Body Combat 31

Breaking tradition, I couldn't fit in FCI's class at all this period, and usually my first time with a new release is usually with him. Such loyalty huh. Anyway, this time, it was with FDI, and Sidekick, (now that Sidekick is a full fledge instructor, might have to think up another name) in the Curve on Saturday.

FDI was very brave to don on a really figure hugging t-shirt. And I mean VERY figure hugging, sort of like skin on skin kinda thing. Like wearing a condom. Fortunately for him, he has the vertical advantage to mask any wobble, and the shirt was black, so some optical illusions there.

To cut a long story short, I don't like this release at all. Apart from track 4, which has that interesting evasive sidekick, jinga and jump kick combo, it was largely forgettable. The music was unevocative, the movements nothing to shout about, though it was a fairly good workout. FDI executed his evasive sidekick with the aplomb of a martial artist....I was quite impressed, considering his age.

The conditioning push ups were quite tough, anything that has those rotating pushups I'd find tough. But apart from that, it was forgettable as well, and the cool down..... bleagh....

And I just heard from yhsmom this morning that the new pump release is nothing to shout about either. Oh dear, the next couple of weeks are gonna be rather dreary then. Luckily I am off to Pangkor tomorrow, till Friday.

i felt exactly the same thing when i 1st tried it. non-memorable tracks & chory.. not catchy.. and i left the studio with BIG question mark... then after few attempts, i start to like it ady.. can feel the rhythm ady.. although track 4 is not as explosive as amadeus (yeah..i know), now can catch the beat ady.

prolly u'll like it after 2nd class? *wink*

"Newman" said that if one loads up, the new BP release becomes more chanllenging and fun. I have my doubts about this though, all the tracks seemed too short. Only the lunges were painful. A really non happening release. Sorry can't comment about any other program as I have been too busy to try them out.

For all the sceptics... RPM is fantastic! Loads of hard work mix with great music...

BA is probably one of the easier releases as well, but it's got some wonderful music....

And yes, you need time for BC31 to grow on you - I enjoyed it more this morning than I did last Mon.

Agree about BC31 being a bit dull. The first time I did it, kept glancing at BH with the "What the heck is this???" look on my face. Music also ok only la. Second time a bit better. I guess it gets better with time..like women and sex? Kekekekeke

Shades...I think RPM has the best tracks for the new releases this time around, as compared to BP and BS. Track 7 is truly great.

yhsmom..did BP again with Richelle at Axis yesterday evening. So bored with the new tracks already, and that was my second attempt at it only. Really lousy lah this release. I totally agree that no matter how many tons of weights you pile, the fact still remains the same...it is dead boring. Lunges not so painful anymore...maybe body is getting used to it. But to me, the award for the biggest joke still goes to BS 67. Firstly the whole release is dead easy not challenging at all. Secondly, cha cha for speed step??? Huh?? And then, the party track has to be one of the worst (if not the worst) in BS's history.

Going to yawn for the next 3 weeks.

hello lion,
peter here.. this time BS i feel is better then the last release, as what i always say depends on how much effort u put into it.. for track 9 speed track, try to lift ur knee higher when u run on the spot, and track 7 try to squart lower and lunge lower.. track 10 u have go all out.. as i usually say see who do lor.. hi. hi.
this release is good actually if u really do it and dont use option..

enjoy ... peter

Oi, Peter the Great. Aiyo...I still feel BS 67 is not dat great lah. Ok..admitted lunges quite ok. But for speed track, even if you lift up your knees high, still not so shiok lah, as compared to the speed track of say BS 53 or 54, which you dont even need to lift up your knees that much and yet you can feel the intensity in your workout. The oomph and intensity for 67 is just not quite there lah. As for track 10 ah, leapt higher all the way loh...still not the same feeling of "euphoria" you will get for your fav track "Final Countdown" or "Tribal Dance", right? But I do agree lah, PTG, you should get your a*se down back here to teach us lah...it will still make a difference somehow, particularly in the euphoric, or shud I say "orgasmic" atmostphere of the class....hehehehehehe

It would be great to go for Peter's step class again - it's been ages since I joined one of his classes. I do love the latest BS release!

Sweat good, guys and girls :=)

Cheers,
Faz
